The decision, taken under the Specific Emergency Plan for Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA), follows forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency. The event is driven by a warm air mass of African origin affecting the eastern islands.
In Lanzarote, temperatures are expected to reach 30 ºC on Tuesday, with local peaks of 32 ºC. The situation is set to intensify from Wednesday, with maximums potentially reaching 38 ºC in inland and southern areas.
The weather event will also bring an increase in minimum temperatures, which could range between 24 ºC and 26 ºC. Additionally, dry conditions in mid-altitude areas and light haze are expected across the archipelago.
Authorities will continuously monitor atmospheric conditions to adjust alert levels based on updated meteorological models and official warnings.
