This infrastructure, a result of collaboration between the Insular Water Council of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, led by Miguel Hidalgo, the mayor of Gáldar, Teodoro Sosa, and the Department of Socioeconomic Development of the Gáldar City Council, headed by Tine Marín Ojeda, continues the commitment of both administrations to enhance and reduce the cost of water supply for agriculture.
This section extends an existing eight-kilometer pipe that runs from Anzo to Piso Firme. The network is supported by a state-of-the-art reservoir in El Agazal, which enables the distribution of desalinated water from the Bocabarranco and Roque Prieto stations, as well as from local irrigation wells.
The water is made available to irrigation communities and farmers with the aim of promoting the recovery of abandoned agricultural land and lowering production costs. This reservoir allows for the supply of water through a pipeline that spans from La Vega de Guía to Piso Firme, passing through areas such as La Vega de Gáldar, Anzo-Anzofé, Taya, Marmolejos, El Palomar, El Agazal, Los Quintana, and Las Rosas.
