A total of 5 bidders have submitted proposals for the comprehensive management of the Tarazona Sociosanitary Center, a facility that will feature 94 residential places and 51 day care places. Following the closure of the bidding process, the qualification of documentation and analysis of proposals will now commence.
The Mayor of Guía, Alfredo Gonçalves Ferreira, expressed his pride in this progress, emphasizing that "serious and determined work bears fruit" and that the center's operational launch is "closer than ever".
The Councilor for Social Policy, Elderly, and Disability, Alejandro Rivero Díaz, highlighted the significance of overcoming "difficulties of various natures" and described the closing of the offer period as a "decisive phase" for the center to fulfill its purpose.
The facility will provide 94 residential places (52 high-dependency, 32 medium, and 10 low-dependency) and 51 day care places, including transportation services. In total, it will offer 145 sociosanitary care places.
Rivero stressed that the project "goes far beyond opening a new facility," as "what is truly important are the people who will be cared for here and their families," making it a resource "destined to play a very significant role in dependency care".
The contract has a base bidding budget of €8,502,225.92 (including IGIC) for the years 2027 and 2028. The initial duration will be two years, with up to three successive one-year extensions. The estimated contract value, including potential extensions and modifications, amounts to €21,972,665.33 (excluding IGIC).
Initial funding is structured through an agreement between the Institute of Social and Sociosanitary Care of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria (IASS) and the Guía City Council, linked to the Dependency Agreement 2025-2028.
The tender documents also advocate for a person-centered model of social and sociosanitary care, aiming to promote autonomy, participation, and quality of life, with individualized plans and specific attention to fragility and cognitive decline.
Following the submission of offers, the Contracting Board will proceed to qualify the documentation and evaluate the proposals to submit an award recommendation.
