The animal welfare organization Help Fuerteventura has initiated a social media campaign, published in three languages, with the aim of finding adoptive families for these canines. The situation is particularly delicate, as some of the animals have special needs.
“"The ideal scenario would be for all four to stay together, although we know that may not be possible. Finding homes for them in pairs would also be wonderful."
The option of adopting them in pairs stems from how their original owner took them in: Chiqui and Daisy together, and Pipo and Max as another pair. The organization highlights that three of the dogs are already quite elderly. Daisy, in particular, is blind in one eye and is suspected to also be deaf.
Meanwhile, Max, a medium-sized German Shepherd mix, was adopted only a week before the incident. He is very frightened, and the organization strongly hopes he can be adopted alongside at least one of his companions to aid his adjustment. Help Fuerteventura appeals to the community to assist these
“"sweet dogs, who have lost their owner in such a tragic way"
