The Cabildo of Lanzarote and the Haría City Council have formalized a collaboration agreement to jointly manage the Los Lajares agro-environmental farm, a public space spanning 100,000 square meters.

The agreement, which has an initial duration of four years with the possibility of extension, aims to turn this site, located next to the Malpaís de La Corona Natural Monument, into a reference center for agricultural experimentation and scientific outreach.
Planned actions include the recovery of native agricultural varieties, the protection of biodiversity, and the improvement of existing infrastructure. Key tasks include the installation of irrigation systems, facility maintenance, and the upgrading of signage to highlight the area's geological heritage.
To ensure the objectives are met, a monitoring committee composed of representatives from both administrations will be established. This body will be responsible for overseeing the initiatives developed on-site, focusing on both supporting the primary sector and environmental education.
