The Teguise Town Hall, in coordination with the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, has intensified signage in La Caleta de Famara to demarcate no-parking zones during the Fiestas del Sagrado Corazón de María. This measure seeks to preserve the natural space, which has limited capacity.
Mayor Olivia Duque highlighted the importance of collective responsibility for environmental care, adding that they are working closely with the Cabildo, as the managing body of the Natural Park, to offer alternatives to private vehicles and facilitate enjoyment of the festivities.
New informational signage has been installed to warn residents and visitors about areas where parking is not allowed, following the guidelines of the Natural Park. The City Council recommends avoiding the use of private cars and opting for public transport to reduce pressure on the urban center.
As an alternative, the Lanzarote Cabildo has launched a special public transport service, at the request of the Teguise Town Hall, using lines 20 (Arrecife-San Bartolomé-La Caleta de Famara) and 28 (Arrecife-Teguise-La Caleta de Famara). These lines will operate with increased frequency during the main days of the festival.
The special service will be available on Friday, August 28, from 9:00 PM to 4:30 AM, Saturday, August 29, from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM, and Sunday, August 30, from 11:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The combined frequency will be one bus every 30 minutes, with lines alternating.
A special traffic management plan will be implemented, with the temporary closure of the lane heading towards La Caleta de Famara on the LZ-402 road. This restriction will be in effect on Friday, August 28, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 AM, and Sunday, August 30, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This lane will be reserved for security, emergency, cleaning vehicles, buses, and taxis, as well as for residents of Las Laderas. Alternative access will be via the LZ-410 road, through Soo.
Additionally, several streets in La Caleta de Famara will be closed to vehicular traffic, including Brisa, Roque del Oeste, Pleamar, Sotavento, Jamo, Erizo, and sections of El Marinero avenue and San Borondón street.
Parking will be prohibited on Brea street, Brisa, Jamo, and Erizo, as well as on sections of El Marinero and San Borondón, from Friday, August 28, at 11:00 AM until Sunday, August 30, at 6:00 PM. Parking areas will be set up in the western part of the town for those who cannot use public transport.
Circulation and parking of vehicles longer than 4.50 meters are prohibited in the urban center, except for those with special authorization.
