The Department of Social Policy and the Elderly, led by Jennifer Sosa Martín, has thanked all the carts and representations that participated in the traditional Romería Ofrenda held on September 10th. This event, part of the Fiestas de San Nicolás de Tolentino 2026, started from the Almacén de Los Picos and paraded through the town's streets to the church of San Nicolás.
The carts and groups brought offerings and gifts that, thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Social Policy and the Elderly, have been distributed among 55 families in the municipality facing vulnerability. The celebration has served to reinforce support for the most needy neighbors, turning tradition into tangible aid.
Jennifer Sosa Martín highlighted the participants' involvement, stating that "behind every contribution there is a gesture of solidarity and commitment to our town that holds a very special meaning." She emphasized how generosity has allowed products to reach families experiencing "situations of greater vulnerability."
The Department of Culture, under the direction of Víctor Juan Hernández, collaborated with the carts to facilitate the preparation of the offerings, reinforcing the solidarity aspect of the pilgrimage. Hernández stated that "our traditions make sense when they remain connected to the citizens and the needs of our town," and that this initiative has had a "direct benefit."
The La Aldea de San Nicolás City Council extends its thanks to all the carts, collectives, families, and individuals who participated, contributing to the celebration's strong social character.
