The contest, featuring short story and poetry categories, centers on the cultural, festive, and traditional aspects linked to the island of La Gomera. The deadline for submitting works is September 25.
Submissions must be in Spanish, original, and unpublished. Generative artificial intelligence is not permitted. Each participant can submit one work per category, either in person at the Registry Office or via the City Council's Electronic Headquarters. Full rules are available on the municipal electronic headquarters.
The jury's decision will be announced on October 2, during the Fiestas de Octubre. Works submitted in person must be in a sealed envelope, quadruplicate, and include a second sealed envelope with the pseudonym and author's details, including a copy of their ID and proof of residency in the Canary Islands.

Félix Casanova de Ayala, born in San Sebastián de La Gomera in 1915, was a writer whose poetic work was part of the post-ism movement. After returning to the islands in 1954, he continued publishing works such as Otoño mío and Elegía aullada. He also authored short stories and the novel El collar de caracoles, noted for portraying the Canarian rural society of his time. He passed away in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1990 and was posthumously awarded the Gold Medal by the Government of the Canary Islands in 1997.
