The program, which has the collaboration of the Agüimes City Council, includes cultural, sports, and recreational proposals. The initiative, driven by the associative movement and open to the general public, aims to promote citizen participation through coexistence and cultural dynamization activities.
Among the highlighted activities is a trip to Racing Kart de Maspalomas on July 18. On July 20 and 21, the City Council's Plenary Hall will host the talk ‘Climate Change. Agenda 2030’, given by Aridane González, Doctor of Marine Sciences from the ULPGC, and the conference ‘The Agüimes-Cuba Relationship’, by historian Miguel Padrón Alemán.
To conclude the week, a Zanga Tournament will be held on July 24 at the murga's venue, followed by a day of coexistence at the Temisas Campsite on July 25. Some of these activities are funded by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria.
Mayor Óscar Hernández emphasized the fundamental role of the municipality's associations in promoting citizen participation and strengthening the social fabric, highlighting the capacity of groups like Los Serenquenquenes to create meeting spaces and maintain constant activity.
The Cultural, Sports, and Recreational Association Los Serenquenquenes, founded in 1982 in Agüimes, has over four decades of history and is known for its connection to the historic murga, a benchmark of the Canary Islands Carnival.
