The sanitary facilities located on Juan Rejón street, in the town of El Carrizal, are undergoing a thorough refurbishment. The aim is to provide citizens with fully equipped and modern spaces in the near future.
The Councilor for Public Works and Highways, Fátima Méndez, and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Rayco Padilla, inspected the progress of the works this Friday, August 14th. Méndez highlighted the intensive efforts by her department to complete the intervention as quickly as possible, acknowledging that they will not be ready in time for local festivities.
The improvement tasks encompass a complete overhaul of the plumbing system, wall tiling, ceiling waterproofing, and exterior facade conditioning. The works are expected to conclude shortly, allowing for the reopening to the public.
“"Unfortunately, the works will not be completed in time for the festivities. However, the progress made ensures that citizens will soon have access to renovated facilities."
Councilor for Urban Planning, Rayco Padilla, detailed the administrative procedures. He explained that while the works in El Carrizal are being carried out by the council's own staff, the renovation process for the bathrooms in Ingenio is currently in the tender phase for private company contracting via a minor contract.
Padilla took the opportunity to apologize to residents for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of the public restrooms in both Ingenio and El Carrizal.
