The initiative, titled Avanzando hacia una Santa Lucía de Tirajana más sostenible, is part of the 2026 Agricultural Employment Promotion Program (PFEA). The hired staff, including agricultural foremen, an administrative assistant, and laborers, will carry out their duties for three months, until December 14, 2026.
The main tasks will consist of conditioning paths, maintaining urban gardens, removing waste and weeds, as well as work related to the municipal oil mill. These actions seek to protect the local landscape and promote environmental sustainability in Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
The total budget for the project is 363,991.77 euros. The majority of the funding, 354,295.53 euros, comes from the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), while the city council contributes 9,696.24 euros to cover severance payments and personal protective equipment.
In addition to the work activity, participants will receive guidance on active job searching, with the aim of improving their professional skills and facilitating their future integration into the labor market once the program ends.
