The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) maintains wind advisories in the Canary Islands, warning that gusts could reach 80 km/h in the most exposed areas, especially on the mountainous islands and the northwest and southeast slopes.

Trade winds will be the main feature across the Canary archipelago this weekend. AEMET forecasts a mostly stable Saturday, June 6th, with predominantly clear or lightly cloudy skies, although some cloudy intervals are expected in the north of the islands during the early morning and late evening. Temperatures will see minor changes, with a slight to moderate increase in the mid-altitude areas.
Strong wind intervals are anticipated in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and particularly on the peaks and northwest and southeast slopes of the mountainous islands. The meteorological agency warns of probable very strong gusts in these regions, which could locally reach 80 kilometers per hour. Intense gusts are also expected in the afternoon along the southern facade of the metropolitan area of Tenerife.
Sunday, June 7th, will feature cloudy intervals in the north of the mountainous islands and the west of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, with a possibility of occasional drizzle. The rest of the archipelago will remain mostly clear. Temperatures will show little change, while the trade winds will continue to blow strongly, bringing intervals of strong gusts and occasionally very strong gusts to the most exposed areas.
For Monday, June 8th, cloudy skies are forecast in the northern parts of the islands below 900-1,100 meters, with clearer spells in the afternoon and a chance of drizzle in the mid-altitude areas. The trade winds will remain intense, with occasionally very strong gusts in exposed areas of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and the larger islands.
AEMET also indicated on its social media that, at least until Friday, very strong wind gusts and sea storm conditions are expected in the Canary Islands, while a sea storm is anticipated in the Balearic Islands tomorrow.
