The Department of Social Services and the Elderly has tendered for 571,941.75 euros the drafting of the technical projects required to define this future infrastructure, located on plot N in Campo Internacional, near Maspalomas. The objective is to advance the creation of a public center for both high-dependency residential care and day care services.
The complex will provide a total of 135 residential places for individuals with high support needs and 18 day care places. These will be organized into nine co-living units, adhering to the principles of the Person-Centered Care (ACP) model.
The contract for the technical documentation, processed through an open procedure, has a submission deadline of September 26, 2026. The economic bids are scheduled to be opened on September 28, with an execution period of eight months for the work once awarded.
This phase does not mark the start of construction but focuses on the detailed definition of the center's architecture, facilities, accessibility, and equipment. The evaluation of economic proposals (49 points) will be complemented by the quality of the architectural and urban planning solution (38 points), as well as aspects of cognitive accessibility and adapted signage.
First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal highlighted the project's social significance, while the Councilor for Social Services, Dimas Sarmiento, emphasized the need to anticipate dependency situations arising from population aging.
Currently, San Bartolomé de Tirajana lacks public residential places, within a demographic context characterized by an increasing population over 65 and a rise in dependency-related situations.
