Red flag waving on a beach, indicating a swimming ban due to pollution.

The Yaiza City Council ordered this Tuesday the temporary closure of the small Playa Blanca beach due to sewage spills, requesting users to respect the red flag.

The Administration has asked residents and visitors to respect the red flag and use other southern beaches while Public Health sample results confirm the water is safe for swimming.
The institution has informed the Water Consortium of Lanzarote about the detected malfunction in the pumping station near the beach so that it can be repaired and the incident resolved.
The City Council will duly notify when the beach is open to the public again.
