Strength and endurance will be the fundamental pillars in the celebration of the Basalto Rules and the Telamon Rules in Puerto Calero, from September 18th to 20th. These competitions will push to the limit the 500 athletes from all the islands and the peninsula, who will test their preparation, strategy, and skills at the southern marina, a facility known for its collaboration with sports.
The Yaiza City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, welcomes the participants and invites the island's sports community to enjoy this cross-training spectacle in the main parking area of Puerto Calero, where all the necessary infrastructure will be set up.
The Basalto, a hybrid competition, combines running with strength and endurance stations, usually involving simple and repetitive movements, prioritizing constant pace, aerobic capacity, and strategy. On the other hand, the CrossFit competition features more varied and unpredictable challenges, mixing weightlifting, gymnastics, strength, cardio, and technical skills, where versatility and mastery of different disciplines prevail.
Both competitions are scheduled for female, male, and mixed pairs, divided into categories based on athletes' skill levels. The organization has prepared complementary activities for family enjoyment, including sea access for cooling off, a shaded children's area, a bouncy castle, a chill-out zone, and food trucks.
Yaiza reaffirms its commitment to sports, positioning itself at the forefront of promoting relevant regional and national events.
