The Lanzarote Health Services Management has resumed the plan for the expansion of the Tinajo health center, aiming to begin the process before the end of the year. The allocated budget has been increased compared to the proposal that had to be canceled in spring due to issues with economic scales.
The project, expected to be completed within a maximum of five months, addresses the need to increase the size of the current facility. Despite being a recently inaugurated center, put into service six years ago after an investment of nearly 700,000 euros in the late last decade, its current space is insufficient.
The center currently includes areas for admission, administration, and medical records, a sample collection room, pediatric and nursing consultation rooms, a multipurpose room, treatment and waiting areas, restrooms, an emergency zone, staff changing rooms, storage, and technical rooms. There are no plans for the center to operate 24 hours a day.
