The municipality of Tinajo continues to actively work on boosting its gastronomic offer. Representatives from the Tinajo City Council and the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Dinamiza Rural 2026 project, have held a technical meeting to advance the Plan for the Promotion of Gastronomic Tourism in Tinajo.
The meeting included Luis Miguel Pérez Berriel and Vianney Rodríguez, councilors from Tinajo, along with Luis Pujol, the technical manager for project development. Both institutions aim to establish a clear roadmap to structure and promote local gastronomy, connecting the tourism and agri-food sectors to develop beneficial tourist proposals, despite the inherent complexity of the stakeholders involved.
The project focuses on defining the methodology and the different work phases. Priorities include the comprehensive utilization of Tinajo's gastronomic heritage through an inventory of resources, diversification of the destination, and attracting new visitor profiles by creating innovative gastronomic experiences. All of this is based on equitable socioeconomic development that supports local actors.
Following this week's meeting, a working workshop is expected to be convened in the coming weeks. This session will serve as a contrast and validation point with the active participation of the involved sectors: restaurants, wineries, producers, and other relevant agents in the area. The ultimate goal is to shape the Plan for the Promotion of Gastronomic Tourism in Tinajo.
