The Urban Planning Department of the Arona City Council has approved the Municipal Verification and Control Plan (PCC) for holiday homes, adapted to the modifications of Law 7/2026.

The plan will be applied to the 6,886 holiday homes included in the list sent by the Government of the Canary Islands. The procedure will allow for the comparison of available information, verification of documentation, and determination of the appropriate actions in each case.
Urban Planning will develop the Plan progressively and through a common and homogeneous procedure. On-site checks will be carried out on homes selected based on objective criteria, considering the results of the documentary review, potential indications of risk or irregularity, and available resources.
Furthermore, the Department has developed a new application form to facilitate the consolidation process for holiday homes eligible under this regime. This form will be available on the municipal website.
Consolidation allows holiday homes that already had authorization before the new regulatory framework came into effect to maintain this activity, even if the current urban planning does not expressly contemplate such use, provided they meet the legally established conditions.
The PCC is organizational and verification-oriented, and it does not create new authorizations or predetermine the status of any home. Each case will be analyzed individually, and actions will be documented in its corresponding file.
