The project is part of an initiative that includes three developments totaling 134 protected homes in southern Tenerife, with a combined investment close to 30 million euros. The intervention is financed under Program 6 for the construction of social rental housing in energy-efficient buildings, part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, using European Next Generation EU funds.
The Arona development, located on Astrón street, has a budget of 16,002,609.63 euros. This initiative joins two others in Guía de Isora and Adeje, bringing the total estimated value for the 134 homes and their corresponding garage spaces to 29,847,469.87 euros (excluding IGIC).
The Canary Islands Government is undertaking various projects in Tenerife to expand the public housing stock. Currently, the island has 1,137 homes in different development phases: 496 planned, 620 under construction, and 21 already completed. The objective is to continue adding new developments in various municipalities across the island to meet the demand for public housing, particularly for social and affordable rental.
