The work titled ‘From Information to Conversation: Nursing Communication and Family Participation in Vaccination’ received the first prize for best oral communication. This study, conducted by professionals from the La Laguna-Tenerife Norte Unit for Family and Community Nursing, emphasizes the importance of active dialogue with families to enhance trust and participation in school immunization campaigns against influenza.
Additionally, the scientific poster ‘From Absence to Cause: Reorienting Care Inertia Towards the Nursing Role’ secured the second prize in its category. Both projects were developed and presented by tutors and residents specializing in family and community care from the La Laguna-Tenerife Norte Family and Community Teaching Unit.
The conference took place in La Palma from October 15th to 17th. The La Laguna-Tenerife Norte Multiprofessional Teaching Unit for Family and Community Care, integrated within the broader La Laguna-Tenerife Norte Multiprofessional Teaching Unit for Family and Community Care, has been training specialists in advanced care competencies, both clinical and research-oriented, since 2012.
Multiprofessional Teaching Units are essential structures that provide formal training for specialists in Family and Community Medicine and Nursing through the residency system (MIR or EIR), equipped with the necessary personal, material, and clinical resources for teaching and research.
The Tenerife Primary Care Management oversees two Multiprofessional Teaching Units for Family and Community Care, affiliated with the University Hospital of the Canary Islands and the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, respectively, which train future specialists in these fields.
