Talent consultancy Adecco and gastronomic publication Tapas Magazine have joined forces to launch ‘Adecco School by Tapas’, a project aimed at raising the standard of the hospitality industry in Spain through the training and specialization of professionals.

The hospitality sector in Spain faces a significant challenge in attracting and retaining qualified talent. To address this 'great paradox' of the market, Adecco, through its division specializing in flexibility and talent, and Tapas Magazine, part of SpainMedia, have created ‘Adecco School by Tapas’. This strategic alliance aims to professionalize the Horeca sector, dignify service, and strengthen one of the country's key economic drivers.
The initiative, launched with institutional support from the Comunidad de Madrid and with expansion plans in regions such as Andalusia and Canarias, is structured in three phases: recruitment, talent amplification, and follow-up to ensure lasting commitment between candidates and companies. The goal is not only to meet the demand for specialized profiles but also to reduce turnover, a persistent challenge in the industry.
The training program, named "Impulso al Talento Horeca" (Boost for Horeca Talent), will combine rigorous selection processes, skills assessment, and specialized training. Participating companies will be recognized with the 'Sello de Excelencia' (Seal of Excellence), a distinction that attests to their commitment to quality training, employee well-being, and service sophistication, assuring customers that the establishment invests in its staff.

"Adecco School by Tapas is not born to simply talk about technical training, but to elevate the professionalization of service to the category of art. It is a project for the country that dignifies our gastronomy and offers a real response to the 'great paradox' of our market: connecting the quality that companies seek with the development that today's professionals demand."

Cristiano Badoch · General Director of SpainMedia

"The sector has long faced a significant challenge in attracting and retaining talent, and we believe that initiatives like ‘Adecco School by Tapas’ provide a much more effective response aligned with the real needs of the market. Beyond addressing a business need, this project has an important social component, as it contributes to creating opportunities, promoting reskilling, and professionalizing a key sector for the Spanish economy."

Luca Barca · Director of Marketing & External Communication of Adecco Group
Luca Barca, from the Adecco Group, emphasized that the alliance addresses the need to attract and position talent sustainably, highlighting the project's social component in creating opportunities and professionalizing a vital sector for the Spanish economy.
