The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued a heat warning for Tenerife and the rest of the archipelago for this Sunday, predicting temperatures that could exceed 34 degrees Celsius, along with persistent dust and strong wind gusts.

The Canary Islands archipelago is bracing for a day of intense heat this Sunday, marked by a new thermal increase that could push thermometers above 34 degrees Celsius in some areas. The situation will be exacerbated by the presence of dust, which will range from light to moderate across several islands, and by winds with strong gusts in various locations.
In Tenerife, cloudy intervals are expected on the northern coast, although clear or mostly clear skies will prevail for much of the day. Light dust will be noticeable in mid-altitude and high areas, with a particularly sharp temperature rise on the west, south, and northeast slopes. Some areas could register local highs above 30 degrees, especially in mid-altitude zones.
The forecast for Santa Cruz de Tenerife indicates a low of 20 ºC and a high of 28 ºC. Wind will be another significant factor, with strong gusts in the northwest and southeast coast, notable intensity in southern Anaga, and moderate to strong southerly winds in the central peaks, with the possibility of very strong gusts during the central hours of the day.
The most extreme conditions are anticipated in Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, where the thermal increase will be more pronounced. The southern interior of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, as well as the south and west of Gran Canaria, could exceed 34 ºC. On La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro, maximum temperatures will also rise, approaching 30 degrees in some mid-altitude areas.
Dust will continue to be a prominent feature, particularly in mid-altitude and high areas. Regarding sea conditions, winds from the northeast or east of force 4 to 6 are expected, with moderate to rough seas, and a northerly swell of one to two meters.
