The cultural cycle will include performances by figures such as Santiago Auserón, Alberto San Juan, El Comidista (Mikel López Iturriaga), Héctor Abad Faciolince, Luis Landero, the band 091, Leo Sidran and Leonor Watling, Paquito D’Rivera Trío, Santi Royo (Santi Sax Music), the company Delirium Teatro, Cristina Rivera Garza (through the adaptation of her work), Cecilia Suárez, Antonia San Juan, and Mercedes Pinto (in the opera based on her novel).
The program spans various disciplines including music, literature, thought, performing arts, and documentary film. It aims to create a meeting space for reflection, emotion, and the exchange of ideas, featuring national and international productions and a new co-production that highlights the literary and cultural heritage of the Canary Islands.
In the literature and thought section, highlights include encounters with Mikel López Iturriaga and Mariola Cubells on gastronomy and media; Héctor Abad Faciolince discussing memory and literature; and Luis Landero reflecting on his literary career.
Music will feature the presentation of the new work by the Spanish rock band 091, a performance by Santiago Auserón, the musical project by Leo Sidran and Leonor Watling, the presence of the Paquito D’Rivera Trío for Latin jazz, and the show by Santi Royo (Santi Sax Music).
The performing arts will include the play La inmortalidad by Delirium Teatro, the performance Amar with Alberto San Juan and Fernando Egozcue, the adaptation of El invencible verano de Liliana starring Cecilia Suárez, and the premiere of the opera Él. De las tinieblas a la luz, co-produced by the CajaCanarias Foundation.
Documentary film will present on November 19 the work Aminetu, focusing on the Sahrawi activist Aminetu Haidar, followed by a dialogue with her and other participants. Humor will be represented by Antonia San Juan with her show La ropa vieja de Cuca.
Additionally, a proposal for family audiences, Sé Tortuga, will be offered on October 31, addressing themes like patience and friendship through a fable.
