The disembarkation of passengers from the cruise ship 'MV Hondius' commenced this Sunday at the port of Granadilla, Tenerife, with the departure of the first fourteen Spanish citizens towards the airport, under a strict health protocol.

The disembarkation operation for the 'MV Hondius', which anchored at 06:30 AM this Sunday in the port of Granadilla, Tenerife, began at 09:40 AM with the departure of fourteen Spanish citizens. This initial group was transported in a UME bus, escorted by the Guardia Civil and the UME itself, heading to Tenerife South Airport, a journey of approximately ten minutes.
The operation was launched after health professionals from Sanidad Exterior confirmed early in the morning that both the passengers and crew of the cruise ship remained asymptomatic. The established disembarkation protocol includes the use of FP2 masks as an additional preventive measure and limiting personal belongings.
Passengers will disembark in a staggered manner, depending on flight availability and the international repatriation operations organized for each country. Once on land, they will be transferred directly to the tarmac in UME buses. In the case of Spanish citizens, they will board a plane chartered by the Government for their transfer to Madrid.
The second nationality to be evacuated will be from the Netherlands, on a flight that will also transport citizens from Germany, Belgium, Greece, and part of the crew. Throughout the rest of Sunday, scheduled flights for other nationalities such as Canada, Turkey, France, Great Britain, Ireland, and the United States will be confirmed. The final flight, bound for Australia with six people on board, is expected to take place on Monday.
