After five years hosting 'Más vale tarde' and two decades as part of the La Sexta family, journalist Cristina Pardo bid farewell amidst emotional scenes. This move represents a significant internal shift within Atresmedia, as Pardo is set to make the leap to Antena 3's coveted prime time slot with a new project next season.
The farewell was marked by emotion and memories. One of the most touching moments occurred when Pardo, visibly moved, thanked Javier Bastida, a key figure in the weather section: "Thank you very much Bastida, I have been very happy to know you, just so you know."
The surprises continued with the appearance of Rodrigo Blázquez, director and presenter of 'La Sexta Noticias 20h', who dedicated heartfelt words to his colleague: "20 years. We have worked a lot, we have enjoyed it, I will miss you very much." Pardo responded by recalling their early days together in national television: "It's a change of phase, I have been very happy at this network, partly thanks to you, because we were together in national news from the beginning."
Collaborator Ramoncín also joined in the expressions of affection, highlighting the presenter's personal qualities: "Cristina, they have tried to get the worst out of you in many ways, but they haven't managed to take away the best you have, which is your heart."
To conclude her tenure, the 'Más vale tarde' team gathered Pardo in the center of the studio and presented her with a bouquet of flowers. With a trembling voice, the journalist praised the work of the behind-the-scenes crew: "Thank you all very much for these five years. I am very proud to have worked with this team, who make us who are on camera much better. So take care of the team, they are truly worthwhile."
Pardo concluded her farewell from La Sexta by looking ahead to her new challenge at Antena 3: "It has been 20 years, and now I can only hope to be up to the task of the next job."
