Woman Arrested for Attempting to Smuggle Hashish into Tenerife Juvenile Center

A 36-year-old woman has been arrested in Tenerife by the Canary Islands Police after attempting to introduce seven grams of hashish into the Valle Tabares juvenile center, allegedly for an interned relative.

Officers from the General Body of the Canary Islands Police intercepted the woman as she was allegedly trying to access the facilities with the drug hidden on her person. The substance, according to investigations, was intended for a relative currently residing in the center.
The police intervention took place as part of a specific operation, launched after receiving information about a possible introduction of narcotics into the premises. The action was made possible through collaboration between the Ministry of Social Welfare and the Autonomous Police.
The operation involved the participation of the Canine Guides Group of the Canary Islands Police, who assisted in the inspection and substance detection tasks. The woman has been handed over to the competent judicial authority.
