The arrested individuals, along with accomplices, allegedly purchased a property in Hungary with the aim of cultivating cannabis. In April 2025, a raid on this residence led to the seizure of 6,289 cannabis plants and 58 kg of dried cannabis, marking the largest marijuana plantation ever confiscated in Hungary. The fugitives face up to 20 years in prison.
Following extensive investigation and surveillance, the two fugitives were identified in Tenerife. Both had drastically altered their physical appearance and were using false identities to hinder their location and avoid detection.
Officers established a sting operation for their arrest, involving the Special Security Operations Group (GOES) due to their dangerousness, martial arts expertise, and potential links to criminal elements in the area.
The wanted individuals were located as they were heading towards their vehicle. Despite offering strong resistance, they were ultimately apprehended and handed over to the judicial authority.
