The Tenerife Council has appointed a technical director to lead the sustainable mobility program in Teide National Park, aiming to reduce private vehicle congestion.

The initiative seeks to transform access to the most visited natural space in the Canary Islands through a comprehensive strategy. The plan integrates responsibilities from departments including Natural Environment, Roads, Mobility, Tourism, and Territorial Planning.
Planned measures include the installation of access control points on entry roads, such as the TF-21, and the implementation of a reservation system for parking. Additionally, shuttle bus services will be promoted to decrease the reliance on private cars.

"It represents a fundamental step forward in one of the great challenges we face as an island: protecting Teide National Park while ensuring orderly, safe, and sustainable mobility."

Rosa Dávila · President of the Council
