Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria has set its sights on Juan Pedro Cazorla, currently assistant to the technical secretariat at Kosner Baskonia, to take over the club's sporting direction.

The Gran Canarian entity is evaluating the incorporation of the professional from Gran Canaria, born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on January 2, 1976, to lead the sports project for the upcoming 2026-2027 season in the Primera FEB. Cazorla has been a key figure at Kosner Baskonia, working closely with Alfredo Salazar for years and actively participating in scouting talent both nationally and internationally.
Following the recent dismissal of Willy Villar, who led the sporting department for six seasons (2020-2026), the island club is looking to secure a fundamental piece for its structure. Juan Pedro Cazorla emerges as a candidate of great interest for this role.
Regarding the coaching position, the profile of Israel González is also favored by the management. The coach, with previous experience at the club as an assistant for eight seasons (2009-2017), recently visited the island with the Italian team Pallacanestro Trieste. He is currently without a team.
Juan Pedro Cazorla, a former player for teams such as FC Barcelona and Kosner Baskonia itself, is the brother of former player Carlos Cazorla and international player Maite Cazorla.
