The Italian team Ferrari will be the first to run on the urban circuit of Madrid, the Madring, this Tuesday, July 9. The team will conduct a promotional video filming session, allowing drivers and the team to familiarize themselves with the track and gather valuable data for the 2026 season.
Drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will have the opportunity to debut the circuit, which will host the Spanish Grand Prix for the first time in September 2026. The day will focus on video recording, with a regulatory limit of 200 kilometers, which will be sufficient for the team to gain an initial advantage.
The SF-26 car will be the first Formula 1 car to drive on this new 5.416 km track with 22 corners. Both drivers will alternate at the wheel, allowing them to get acquainted with the sole absolute novelty of the 2026 calendar. This filming day will also provide valuable data for the Maranello team and allow Madring officials to test the facility's functionality.
Ferrari's rapid organization of this event is noteworthy, considering that just a few days ago, the Madring was still a construction zone, particularly regarding structures for the public and the paddock. The track was only asphalted several weeks ago, and Ferrari's presence tomorrow confirms the advanced stage of the works.
