The 11th Gastronomic Fair of the Canary Islands – GastroCanarias 2026 has unveiled the names of the finalists who will compete in the 20th Canary Islands Cooking Championship and the 11th Young Chefs Championship, marking the beginning of its competitive program.

These competitions, part of the central program of GastroCanarias 2026, will bring together professionals and emerging talents from Canarian gastronomy. The event is consolidating its position as an essential meeting point for the sector in the archipelago.
The 20th Canary Islands Cooking Championship – Gran Premio Cepsa, the oldest and most prestigious competition of the fair, will celebrate its twentieth edition. Selected participants in this category must prepare two dishes live: one with a mandatory surprise ingredient and another free-style, using a mystery box of ingredients and a common pantry. They will have 135 minutes for the creation and presentation of both proposals.
Meanwhile, the 11th Canary Islands Young Chefs Championship – Gran Premio Binter 'La Cocina en Verde' aims to give visibility to new generations. Finalists in this competition must present a four-portion dish, inspired by the concept 'Green Cuisine', using a surprise box provided on the same day. This competition will take place during the first day of the fair, in the afternoon, starting at 4:00 PM.
The 11th Gastronomic Fair of the Canary Islands – GastroCanarias 2026 will be held from May 19 to 21 at the Gran Nave del Recinto Ferial de Tenerife, reaffirming its position as one of the most important professional events for hospitality and food in the Canary Islands.
