The open call targets creators aged 18 to 35 residing in Tenerife and affiliated with the Council's Merkarte program. The aim is to select original pieces that capture the botanical and natural essence of García Sanabria Park, an iconic landmark in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, emphasizing organic forms, plant textures, and a color palette reflecting the natural surroundings.
The hotel will cover the production and acquisition costs of the artworks, as well as assist with their installation and promotion. Various actions are planned to publicize the project, including QR codes linked to the pieces, media and social media outreach, and the potential sale of small-format works and prints.
Interested artists must submit their applications via email to proyectomerkarte@hoteltaburiente.com, including their CV, portfolio, artistic profile presentation, a selection of representative works, and a letter of motivation. The deadline for submissions is one month from the call's publication date.
According to the guidelines, each artist must present a minimum of 20 works inspired by García Sanabria Park, adhering to established formats and criteria for size and color palette. The initiative seeks to create a visual narrative connecting the hotel's interior with the park's landscape and the identity of Tenerife.
A committee comprising the Hotel Taburiente team and professionals from the artistic and cultural fields will select the proposals, evaluating the quality, feasibility, and suitability of the works to the project's concept, which aims to transform rooms and common areas into spaces where art, nature, and territory converse contemporaneously.
