Officers from the Guardia Civil and Customs Surveillance have arrested a man at the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife after discovering 4.5 kilos of cocaine inside his vehicle.

The operation took place during a routine fiscal check following the arrival of a ship from Gran Canaria. During the inspection, investigators noted suspicious behavior from the driver, who displayed an aggressive attitude toward the officers.
The individual attempted to evade police action by providing a false identity and fleeing on foot. During the struggle to avoid arrest, the suspect caused minor injuries to the intervening officers before being successfully apprehended.
Following a thorough search of the vehicle, 4.5 kilos of narcotics were located, with an estimated street value of nearly 280,000 euros. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin and final destination of the seized substance.
