The congress will gather more than 300 researchers, professionals, students, and representatives from technology companies in Tenerife. The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday, September 2nd, at 12:30 PM in the Aula Magna of the General Aulario César Manrique at the Guajara Campus, with the participation of the rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco J. García, and representatives from the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Spanish National Committee of URSI.
The scientific program is structured around ten commissions covering areas such as electromagnetic metrology, radio communication systems, electronics, wave propagation, radio astronomy, and electromagnetism applied to biology and medicine. This reflects the breadth of radio science and its transversal impact on telecommunications, space, Earth observation, health, and digital technologies.
A significant part of the congress will be dedicated to special sessions on current topics, fostering interaction between researchers and industry professionals. One of the objectives is to strengthen the relationship between academia and the technology sector, with the participation of companies through exhibition spaces and technical activities.
The congress is supported by institutions such as the Cabildo de Tenerife, as Global Sponsor, and other entities in the technology and telecommunications sector. Despite being a national symposium, the 2026 edition has an international dimension due to the origin of the participants and the presence of representatives from the international URSI organization.
