The Sports Councillor highlighted the steady progress of the Cabildo Games, which for nearly four decades have successfully encouraged physical activity among young people. This weekend marks the end of the season for disciplines such as artistic skating, Canarian bowling, and futsal.
Artistic swimming and water polo will have their third session at the Tenerife Aquatic Sports Center in Puerto de la Cruz. Artistic swimming starts at 10:00 AM for Benjamin, Alevín, Infantil, and Junior categories, followed by water polo from 11:30 AM for Benjamin and Alevín.
Artistic skating concludes its participation at the Paulino Rivero Baute Sports Complex in El Sauzal. A total of 120 skaters from all categories will compete on Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM to 8:15 PM, and on Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Canarian bowling also bids farewell to the Cabildo Games this Saturday at the Los Baldíos Sociocultural Center in La Laguna. One hundred children will gather at 10:00 AM for this final sporting event. Futsal will end its season at the Municipal Pavilion of La Victoria de Acentejo, with matches starting at 9:00 AM and involving over fifty players.
Canarian wrestling will hold its seventeenth Insular League round in several arenas across the island, including Los Campitos (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Guamasa and Valle Guerra (La Laguna), Tegueste, Candelaria, La Victoria de Acentejo, El Rosario, and Guía de Isora. Three hundred wrestlers from various categories will participate in these matches.
Handball will play its Cup matches this Saturday at IES Tegueste and the Celestino Hernández Luis Municipal Pavilion in La Orotava, featuring mixed Alevín, Infantil, and Cadete categories. Volleyball will complete Saturday's sports agenda on May 9 with its thirtieth round of competition at various courts in La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, El Rosario, and Arona.
Finally, triathlon will kick off its season on Sunday, May 10, with a duathlon event combining running and cycling. The competition will take place on an urban circuit in Santa Úrsula, located on Avenida de Las Palmeras, and is open to children of all categories.
