Approximately one hundred individuals gathered in Puerto de la Cruz to voice their opposition to the participation of the Israeli national team in the U18 Women's Water Polo World Cup, an event taking place in Tenerife.

The gathering, organized by pro-Palestinian groups, occurred this Saturday in the vicinity of Tenerife's Aquatic Sports Center. Demonstrators assembled at 12:00 PM along the Playa Jardín promenade, close to El Castillo cove and the Manolo Santaella stadium, an area near a mural supporting Palestine.
During the protest, Palestinian flags were waved and banners criticizing the armed conflict in the Gaza Strip were displayed. Attendees read a manifesto expressing their criticism towards Israel, sports federations, and public administrations for permitting the Israeli team's participation in the championship.
The international women's water polo tournament, currently in its semi-final stage this Saturday and concluding on Sunday, has maintained enhanced security measures since its commencement on August 16th. The organization has increased police presence, particularly during matches involving the Israeli team, to prevent any disturbances within the sports facilities.
