Coach Txus Vidorreta has been confirmed as the new manager for Unicaja Malaga, signing a two-year deal.

The Malaga-based club officially announced the signing of the Basque coach this Thursday, who replaces Ibon Navarro. Navarro has opted to leave early to pursue an international coaching opportunity with Crvena Zvezda Belgrade.
Vidorreta's move to Unicaja was not entirely unexpected in recent days, although initial speculation had linked him with Zaragoza. The Malaga option ultimately proved more compelling for the coach.
Vidorreta, who will turn 60, embarks on his sixth coaching role in the Liga Endesa. His coaching career includes stints with Bilbao, Alicante, Estudiantes, two periods at Canarias, and Valencia.
Upon his departure from Canarias, Vidorreta stated his priority was to "continue actively at the highest level," an opportunity now presented by Unicaja, a team accustomed to competing for titles.
Meanwhile, the Tenerife club is actively seeking a replacement. Slovenian coach Jaka Lakovic, formerly of Gran Canaria, is considered the leading candidate to take over the team's coaching position.
