Fuencaliente de La Palma is preparing to celebrate the Fiesta del Pino de la Virgen this weekend, with events taking place both around the pine tree and in the Town Hall Square.

The festive events will begin on Friday, September 18, in the Town Hall Square with a concert by the group Tajadre at 8:00 PM.
Saturday's program will continue in the mountains starting at 10:00 AM, offering activities and demonstrations of traditional games. Among these, the demonstration of Canarian wrestling and the traditional Duelas Race will be highlighted, with encouragement for participation.
At 1:00 PM, the eucharist will be celebrated, followed by a traditional neighborhood lunch where each attendee will bring their own food. During this gathering, the traditional dessert contest will also take place, enlivened by the poets from the ‘Punto y Clave’ Association.
Saturday's day will conclude at night, starting at 10:00 PM, in the Town Hall Square, with a festival enlivened by the groups Grupo Libertad and Calle 3.
The mayor of the town, Gregorio Alonso, stated that the Fiestas del Pino de la Virgen are an opportunity to keep traditions alive and strengthen neighborly bonds. He explained that the date change responds to an agreement to ensure safety, avoiding potential cancellations due to high temperatures and fire risk.
The Fuencaliente Town Hall encourages citizens to participate in the events to keep the municipality's customs and cultural heritage alive.
