The project, which began on September 14, will run for nine months, until June 13, 2027, aiming to enhance participants' employability through training and work experience.
Mayor Mari Brito highlighted that the initiative represents a real opportunity for residents who have been seeking employment for some time, offering them not only a contract but also training and tools for their future, while they contribute to the municipality's upkeep.
The initiative was approved by the Canary Islands Employment Service, with funds from the State Public Employment Service, and has a total cost of 331,505.85 euros, with the Candelaria City Council contributing 21.16%.
The project targets long-term unemployed individuals from the municipality who have not obtained their Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) title. It includes the hiring of one teacher, one administrative assistant, one supervisor, and the 21 cleaners.
During their contract, participants will receive training in key level 2 and 3 competencies in Spanish language and mathematics, as well as transversal training in digital skills, environmental awareness, and equality, along with professional workshops.
