The delegation from the Venezuelan Canary Home, led by its president, José Ramón Arvelo, was accompanied by the Home's queen, Camila Aguilar, and José Téllez Ledesma, Director General of Emigration for the Government of the Canary Islands. Following the reception at the town hall, the group proceeded to the Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria, where they were welcomed by the rector, Fray Dailos José Melo González.
This meeting takes place within the framework of Canary Islands Migration Day, commemorated annually on September 10 in remembrance of the shipwreck of the Valbanera. The Venezuelan Canary Home, based in Caracas, is a social, cultural, and sports club that revolves around Canary Islands traditions and serves as a reference for the Canarian-Venezuelan community.
