The route, which started from Montaña Grande (also known as Alchaco), included stops at Montaña de La Mar and concluded in Puertito de Güímar. During the journey, the students had the opportunity to visit a volcanic tube and observe various geological formations such as lava flows, lapilli, and pumice, as well as coastal terraces.
The young people also learned about vestiges of ancient agricultural use and marine salt extraction. From the viewpoints, they identified the characteristic flora of the area, including cardonal-tabaibal, salicornia, sea thyme, balos, and sea lettuce.
This initiative by the Environment Department aims primarily to introduce the municipality's youth to the valuable natural heritage of their surroundings and promote its knowledge and conservation.
