Citizens can donate blood today, Monday, from 16:45 to 20:00, and tomorrow, Tuesday, from 9:15 to 13:30 and from 16:15 to 20:15. The General Directorate of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) has deployed this mobile unit to make donation more accessible.
The SCS encourages residents of La Orotava and nearby municipalities to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to the blood supply of Canary Islands hospitals. In addition to the mobile unit, there are fixed donation points in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Méndez Núñez), Granadilla de Abona (San Isidro Health Center), the University Hospital of the Canary Islands, the University Hospital Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, Hospiten Bellevue in Puerto de la Cruz, and the San Juan de Dios Hospital on the road from Santa Cruz to La Laguna.
Basic requirements for blood donation include being between eighteen and 65 years old (up to sixty for a first-time donation), weighing over fifty kilograms, and being in good general health.
