El Médano is set to host the Inclusive Popular Race this Saturday, September 5th, an event that will bring together 375 participants in a celebration promoting integration and community through sport.

The sporting day will kick off at 6:00 PM with the children's race, aimed at participants aged 3 to 15, featuring adapted routes ranging from 150 meters to 2.4 kilometers. Following this, at 7:00 PM, the 5-kilometer popular and inclusive race will take place, starting and finishing at the central square of El Médano. This main event will cover a circuit that includes the El Cabezo area, with categories ranging from under 20 to masters.
Organized by the Guaimán Athletics Club in collaboration with the Sports Department of the Granadilla de Abona City Council, the initiative aims to promote sports practice as a space for participation and social cohesion.

"This event is an example of how sport can be a tool for inclusion and social participation. This race symbolizes the values we want to promote in our municipality: inclusion, participation, and community. Seeing so many people share the same route with enthusiasm shows that sport unites and breaks down barriers."

José Domingo Regalado · Mayor of Granadilla de Abona
