These grants, awarded by the General Directorate of Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands, will cover 100% of the two applications submitted by the council. The funds will be used to install photovoltaic panels for the water pumping system in El Morito and for the electrical supply of chlorinators and meters in the Tanque de La Zarza.
The main allocation, amounting to €38,521.07, will be dedicated to installing a 30 kW self-consumption system with photovoltaic solar energy for the pumping system in El Morito. The project includes the installation of photovoltaic modules to the machine room via buried cable lines and a concrete slab for the inverter.
The second grant, for €2,391.45, will finance the installation of a photovoltaic solar energy system to supply electricity to the chlorinators and meters of the Tanque de Agua de La Zarza.
Through these initiatives, the Fasnia City Council aims to reduce its energy dependence and the costs associated with water management, replacing conventional electricity consumption with self-generated renewable energy at key points of its supply network.
