The Granadilla de Abona City Council, through its Equality and Diversity department, has officially presented its commemorative activities for International LGTBIQ+ Pride Day, denying any cancellation.

The technical and cultural events will commence in the southern municipality of Tenerife, combining visibility actions, artistic workshops, and training sessions focused on social integration. With this announcement, the council responds to accusations of cancellation from island associations and to the controversy generated in the regional political landscape regarding the management of equality policies.
The program will begin on Thursday, June 25th. Between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, Room 1 of the San Isidro Espacio Cívico (SIEC) Multifunctional Center will host the participatory workshop “Paint Your Own Flag in Honor of Pride Day,” a cultural activity promoting free expression and creativity, with spaces subject to capacity limits.
The central event will take place on Friday, June 26th, at 10:00 AM in Plaza González Mena. Local representatives will read the official manifesto, drafted and presented by Canary Pride, the LGTBIQ+ Association of Southern Tenerife. Simultaneously, the rainbow flag will be raised on the council's main flagpole.
On the afternoon of the same Friday, starting at 4:00 PM, training will continue at the San Isidro senior center. The facilities will host the interactive workshop “Prejudice-Free Space,” an initiative led by Canary Pride specialists to work on respect dynamics with the municipality's elders.

"In this locality, equality and diversity are configured as a daily commitment to work and not merely a calendar slogan. These events constitute an open space for all families and identities."
