The Granadilla de Abona City Council has formalized a collaboration agreement with the organization ATELSAM Salud Mental, providing 20,000 euros to strengthen support for individuals with mental health conditions and their families.

This agreement, the first municipal pact signed with the organization, aims to boost prevention, promote inclusion, and combat the social stigma associated with mental health in the municipality. The initiative seeks to improve the quality of life for residents through direct and professional support.
Local authorities have emphasized the importance of partnering with specialized entities to ensure comprehensive care. The municipal commitment focuses on providing resources that allow those affected to develop their life projects with the necessary support, promoting a more equitable and accessible society for all.
The organization noted that this financial backing will help consolidate its presence in the southern part of the island. Currently, the entity manages a residential facility with a capacity for 20 people in the area, as well as three supervised apartments and two occupational centers, which are key infrastructures for addressing local needs.
