The initiative, promoted by the Association of Businessmen of El Castillo (AECA) and funded by the Department of Commerce of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura with the collaboration of the Antigua City Council, will offer over three days, proposals linked to world flavors and the revitalization of the El Castillo commercial area.
The president of AECA, Eduard Van Der Veen, highlighted the importance of such events for the sector and thanked the institutions for their support. The president of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola García, emphasized that ‘Sabor a Castillo’ is a consolidated event that boosts the local economy and commerce. The Minister of Commerce, Lolina Negrín, invited participation in this edition organized by AECA and the Antigua City Council, highlighting activities for all family members.
The Councilor for Commerce of the Antigua City Council, Guiseppe Signorino, pointed out that the collaboration between administrations demonstrates that working together can lead to improvements in commercial activity. Also present at the inauguration was the president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Fuerteventura, Isabel Lauciria, whose entity will participate with information and prevention activities.
The program for Friday, October 2nd, includes the fair's opening, a showcooking, and musical performances such as those by Kevin Archer and Alma Rebelde. Saturday, October 3rd, the main day, will feature children's activities, zumba, salsa, bachata, and sevillanas workshops, exhibitions, showcooking, and performances by Grupo K.Libre, Batucada Calemba, and La Banda del Cuco.
Sunday, October 4th, will be dedicated to families, with a children's cooking workshop, a new musical performance, and the closing of the program. Throughout the three days, the fair will offer gastronomic spaces and world flavor proposals, reinforcing its international character and its commitment to revitalizing El Castillo.
Among the new features are children's activities like ‘Le Petit Chef’ and ‘¡Hoy soy pastelero!’. The organization encourages residents and visitors to enjoy the fair.
