The San Miguel de Abona City Council will open the application period for study grants for the 2026-2027 academic year on August 24th, with a budget of €335,000.

The application window will remain open until September 11th. With this new call, San Miguel de Abona positions itself as the Tenerife municipality that grants the largest amount in study aid, covering all educational levels: Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training Cycles, University, and Postgraduate.
Mayor Arturo González highlighted that "education is one of the best investments a public administration can make." The objective is for families to find an ally in their City Council to face the effort of a school year and ensure no student's education is hindered by economic reasons.
For her part, the Councilor for Social Services, Nuria Marrero, stated that "we are the municipality in Tenerife that allocates the most to study grants because we believe that the education of our residents is an investment in the present and future of San Miguel de Abona."
Minimum requirements include being registered in the municipality for at least one year prior to the application date, being up-to-date with tax obligations, and the student being enrolled in public schools. The amount each applicant family will receive will vary depending on income and the level of studies for which the aid is requested, distributed according to the regulatory bases.
Applications can be submitted at the Social Services Offices (by appointment), at the Citizen Services Office (SAC), and through the council's Electronic Office. Application forms are available for download on the municipal website, in the Social Services section.
