Granadilla de Abona, through its Public Works and Services department, is advancing the urban integration of the Cha Joaquina urban park and improving connectivity in San Isidro. This project is part of the EDIL Plan, a municipal strategy with a total investment of €10,712,342, co-financed by 85% from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Following the award for the technical project's drafting, Mayor José Domingo Regalado and Councilor for Public Works and Services, Marcos Antonio Rodríguez Santana, met with the drafting team to coordinate the next steps. The aim is for the construction works to be put out to tender by early 2027.
The project includes the creation of new green areas, community spaces, and improved pedestrian connections between public and commercial services. The recovery of the future Plaza de San Isidro is planned as a renewed meeting point for residents.
Marcos Antonio Rodríguez highlighted the project's significant scale, requiring rigorous planning and coordination to tender the works early next year and materialize San Isidro's transformation.
Mayor José Domingo Regalado emphasized the project's importance in enhancing public spaces, making San Isidro more accessible and sustainable. The integration of the park and square will create new meeting points and revitalize social and economic activity.
The EDIL Plan for San Isidro encompasses urban regeneration, environmental sustainability, and economic revitalization. The intervention at Cha Joaquina urban park will occur between Santa María de la Cabeza and El Mirador streets, including a green pedestrian walkway.
The project's drafting was awarded to Grupo Inascan S.L. for €157,290. This coordination meeting advances towards the tender for works in early 2027, marking a significant step in reclaiming public spaces in San Isidro.
