The Cine+Cómics Foundation has set up an exhibition at the San Isidro House of Culture dedicated to Chris Claremont's era on ‘X-Men’, one of Marvel's most iconic titles. This exhibition is part of the 23rd Tenerife International Comic and Illustration Fair, which extends its program to various Canary Islands municipalities.
The opening of the exhibition, titled 'Chris Claremont, the Golden Age of X-Men', took place last Tuesday, September 22. The event was attended by the Councilor for Culture of Granadilla de Abona, Carlos Abismael Díaz, along with Francisco Pomares and Lucas Morales, president and director of the Cine+Cómics Foundation, the fair's organizing entity alongside the Moebius Cultural Chair of the University of La Laguna.
Councilor Carlos Abismael Díaz noted that the exhibition will be available for free until October 18, inviting the public to "come and see this collection" about "this legend called X-Men".
The exhibition consists of twenty-four panels, two display tables with comics, and a display of action figures. Visitors can explore the sixteen years (1975-1991) during which Claremont led the franchise, focusing on five key stories: The Dark Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, God Loves, Man Kills, Wolverine: Honor, and Excalibur.
This exhibition serves as the closing event for the third edition of Granadilla Cómic 2026, a project integrated into the municipality's cultural agenda, Culturarte. Previously, Granadilla Cómic 2026 presented the exhibitions “Ilustradoras & Ilustradas: El Archivo” and “Homenaje a Francisco Ibáñez”.
The 23rd Tenerife International Comic and Illustration Fair, organized by the Cine+Cómics Foundation and the Moebius Cultural Chair, will host activities in various venues across Tenerife. The Plaza del Príncipe in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will feature the commercial area, an Artist Alley, and a stage for cosplay and k-pop activities from October 29 to November 1. The event is sponsored by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the Cabildo de Tenerife, and the Government of the Canary Islands.
